Granijet Application Steps

Surface Preparation and Coating Process

This process makes application fast, attractive and long-lasting from preparation to completion.

Surface Preparation: Prepare application surfaces with a fine plaster finish that is level and plumb. On previously painted surfaces, check the substrate strength and the adhesion of the old paint. Repair flaking areas and weak plaster before application. Surfaces must be dry and free of dust.

Application: After preparing the substrate, mix the primer with 0–5% water. Apply two coats with a roller at approximately 0.2–0.3 kg/m². Once the primer has dried (drying time varies with temperature, up to a maximum of 24 hours), use double-sided adhesive strips to set out level and plumb joints according to the project design.

After setting out the joints, dilute the first-colour material with 0–2% water and apply it using a spray gun and compressor at approximately 3.0–3.5 kg/m². (Nozzle: 8–10 mm; pressure: 490–686 kPa.)

Next, dilute the second-colour Granijet material with 0–2% water and apply it at a lower pressure using a spray gun and compressor, at approximately 0.6–0.8 kg/m². (Nozzle: 8–10 mm; pressure: 294–392 kPa.)

Then apply the first-colour material again as a third coat at approximately 0.6–0.8 kg/m². (Nozzle: 8–10 mm; pressure: 294–392 kPa.)

Immediately after completing these steps, peel off the yellow film on the adhesive strips. After 12 hours, pull the strips themselves away from the coated surface.

Drying Time: Surface drying takes 24 hours at 20 °C and 65% relative humidity. Full drying takes 4–7 days. Low temperatures and low relative humidity may extend drying time.

Consumption: Primer: 0.2–0.3 kg/m²
Granijet (two-colour application): 4.2–5.1 kg/m²

Consumption may vary depending on the surface and application conditions. Carry out a controlled sample application to determine the exact consumption.
